Marist College EA Class of 2023

My son applied on October 11 and got his portal access code a couple of days later. So anxious to hear - from what we have heard from a friend who applied last year, they usually release decisions right before Christmas.

@nyr76 My DS applied really early (August) and did not get a log in for a long time - maybe two months. Finally we emailed the direct counselor and within a week or two they set it up. Hope that helps!

We just got an email saying “Thank you for applying Early Action to Marist! Please make sure to send your first quarter grades as soon as they are available.” Are they saying they won’t give him an answer until they have them? which is very odd because our student is above the 75% scores/grades, and he is on semesters and won’t have grades until about February… Any one else get this note?

Does anyone know when ED applicants are supposed to hear?

@345winter we did not get that note, although my son’s HS is on quarters and they did get his first quarter grades. I have a friend whose son’s school was on semesters rather than quarters and he ran into an issue thereof with a couple of his applications last year. She ended up forwarding the emails that she got over to his guidance counselor, who followed up with the schools to make sure that they knew that particular HS was on semesters rather than quarters, and also sent those two colleges the student’s grades as of that point.

interesting - thanks for your reply bostonmama I did have our counselor send a mid-semester report of grades in progress for my son to send on to Marist. There was no way to do it on his portal so he just replied to the email we got and attached the document. He is a west coast kid - I don’t know that any kid from our school has ever gone to Marist. He is above a 3.75 and over 30 on ACT, athlete, at a good prep school. Marist isn’t his first choice but it is a nice option. I think I liked it better than he did!
Beautiful campus.

Hey! My admissions counselor emailed me this!

We hope to send out decision letters for early action by the end of the week or early next week, so you should be hearing back from us shortly.

So I believe we will find out this or net week!!

Do you think they will let us know when they send out the letters on their social media?

yea. I’d think so since they did the same thing with EA

Hiii I think EA decisions will be sent today right?

No way. I’m scared

Dont mark my word for it though. Just my admissions counselour said they would be sent ate this week or early next

I know they posted it on twitter when ED went out. I am sure they will do the same as most people found out by the 18th

yayaya so soon omg

ahhh I am so nervous, I applied for the FDE program so I figured I wouldn’t get a letter until January but now I don’t know!

My daughter was not asked to provide more grades. We actually got an email about honors college. She has an unweighted 3.9 gpa maybe they just need more grades to make a final decision on your child.

Im starting to wonder when we will hear back ugh maybe Monday?

Does anyone know when we will hear back? ahhh im getting so anxious

My son applied on Nov. 10th. He did not receive even a confirmation email that they received the application. He emailed a few weeks later to confirm if they received everything they needed. They did reply that they had everything. Never received portal access. Didn’t bother them about that only because he knew they had what they need. The no communication is A little disheartening especially because this college process is so stressful for kids and parents .

I didn’t get my portal for a while, but then I emailed them and they sent it the same day. It doesn’t matter though since they mail decisions.
