@caliboy234 I had my fingers crossed for you but Im sure it will work out in March for you.
im hoping… Marist has been my dream!
Did anyone who applied EA hear back and if so what state are you from please? People I know in CT that applied EA heard back yesterday. At least the ones that got accepted heard back.
@kitt23 I live in Westchester, NY like 5 mins from CT. I heard back yesterday. I was accepted with 7,500 a year 3.34 GPA did not send test scores.
Tons of ECs and I visited in the fall.
Hoped this helped!
@caliboy234 hoping for good news for you for March.
@kitt23 we are in central MA and my son got his acceptance on Wednesday. Hope you get good news today.
I read online that you can negotiate the amount of the merit based scholarship with admissions offices. I does anyone have any experience with this?
I live in New Canaan,CT and haven’t heard anything from Marist. Marist is my top choice and I really want to get in! Should I be worried that I haven’t heard from them it’s been days!
Hi I applied EA and I heard back from them today saying that I was deffered to RD and that they want to hear more about me like my mid year grades and an essay.
I GOT IN AYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! CLASS OF 2023
Son accepted with nice scholarship $. The location though is a bit of a sticking point - feels remote. Congrats to all who are pleased with their admissions and scholarships! best of luck to those still waiting - it will all work out.
Daughter accepted 3.9 UW 1360 SAT. Merit of 12.5 which is lower then hoped for, but we’ll see what financial aid picture looks like. Is her Mom’s alma mater so happy all around.
Daughter received her acceptance to the Florence Freshman Experience on Saturday, which came with an additional $5000 award. Definitely makes Marist a top contender!
Hi everyone!
So I was accepted with a 12.5k scholarship, didn’t send my SAT/ACT scores in, but I had all A’s/B’s my first quarter. I currently take 3 APs, I have a full schedule, I’m the president of a club, secretary of another, and member of another. I’m a little nervous though because my pre calc grade this quarter is a 72… causing my “final” grade to be a 79 atm. I plan on retaking two tests and one quiz, but I’m so nervous I won’t do any better:( I don’t know if I should email the admission counselor assigned to my area or something to showcase I am prepared to discuss what my poor grade might cause.
There’s still a month left until the quarter ends and it is only the second quarter but I’m nervous nonetheless. All my other grades, aside for my other math course which I have a B in currently, are A’s. I’m just nervous that it seems I’m slacking off when really I’m not. I had an 86 last quarter because we were reviewing algebra ii. I’m just so nervous i’ll be rescinded and I don’t really know where else to post asking for advice on this topic. Thanks!
Just to add a little more to my background, I’m also in the midst of being certified as a yoga teacher (a special offering at my high school) and that all my classes are weighed as honors. So all my core classes are honors. So my pre calc class is an honor class. I almost want to ask my teacher to write a letter addressing that he knows I’m trying my hardest and that I’m a good student… since he’s had me both last year and this year.
But yeah. Any insight would be wonderful, and congrats to all those who got in! And to those who got deferred do NOT give up! If it’s not a rejection you 100% still have a shot and just give it your all! Stay focused and positive!
oh gosh sorry i’m spamming, but I just wanted to apologize if it seems like i’m bragging about myself. i’m honestly very proud of myself for getting into this school and overall my academic career throughout high school.
That being said, I wanted to also say that whatever will be, will be and that sometimes we can’t change faith, as much as we want to. It’s important to have a positive mindset during this time especially and to be proud of yourself no matter what!!
Once again I am sorry for my spam and my impulsive posting so late in the evening.
You will not be rescinded for a C+
I wouldn’t be worried. I have only heard of two acceptances rescinded. One was a disciplinary thing - the girl was completely wasted at senior prom such that she was suspended from school and was not allowed to walk at graduation. Her college heard about it and rescinded admission. The other was a case of extreme senioritis - tanking every class, not just one C+.
Thanks for the responses!! I’m still going to be extremely cautious and try to bring up my grade. Have a nice day everyone!
