Marist Swimming

My DS is a swimmer - and would like to continue in college - very interested in Marist for the school itself. However, he is not a Division 1 swimmer necessarily. How does that work for swimmers who have their own funding so not necessarily looking to be recruited but still want to swim (even if not competing necessarily the first year but training with team) while attending the school?

We do have walk on days where students can try out for the D1 teams. However, I don’t believe there is an option available for where you just train with the D1 teams. The pool does have open hours, so your student will definitely be able to use that time to swim and train on their own time. They can also even try creating swimming as a club sport when they get here. It’s a great way to get involved, and make a group of friends!
