do the high rise dorms have elevators? thinking forward to all the moving in & out thanx

what a wonderful visit my daughter just had at Marist.

My son is a HSJunior and we are just beginning this process. I would love to hear from current students about “a day in the life”, during the week and on weekends.

Also, are there organized “casual sports” (ie- intermural tennis and basketball?)

Finally- as a product of mixed religions (Jewish and catholic) with no strong affiliation to either, would that effect his experience?

Thanks

Today is their annual Springfest—an outdoor concert down at the edge of the river.

There are plenty of intramural sports – there’s always pick-up basketball games, ultimate frisbee, tons of things going on.
Marist may seem pretty religious at first, but I’ve never felt pressured about anything (I’m Jewish, and I’m not practicing at all). Mass is offered, and there’s Brothers who live on campus, but they’re really sweet and great to talk to… I’ve talked to one of them and it was really great – didn’t feel pressured at all.
Leo (6 floors) and Champagnat (9 floors) both have elevators – Leo has one, Champ has two.
Yes, it’s true that kids who live in other dorms have to sign in to different dorms, but that’s only for the freshman dorms, and it’s a really quick process, and takes less than 30 seconds. You only need to sign in between 3PM and 5AM… otherwise you just swipe your Marist ID to get access.
