Market Research Analyst Help!!!

Hello Everyone,
I will be attending webster university in the fall and I am wondering what degrees will help me the most to become a market research analyst. I love marketing and want to have career in it. I have been looking all over the internet to find the best degrees but, to my luck couldn't find a straight answer. So I hope you guys can help me on this. I have come to two choices and they both involve double majoring in either:

B.A. Management with emphasis in Marketing and
B.A. Economics
or
B.A. Management with emphasis in Marketing and
B.A. Mathemathics

By double majoring in management and economics some classes will coexist with each major. Mathematics on the other hand will take longer. Is there another way to help me work in market research?

-Thank you for time,
Jessie

There are some good analytic skills from econ however if you want to concentrate on research a strong statistical background will serve you best. So a math or stat degree makes the most sense to me. Also, computer skills are necessary.

I’m an econ student who is currently working as a market research analyst. Best advice I can give is no matter degree you pursue develop skills that are valuable to the field. Skills like: excel (check out chandoo.org), statistical analysis, and marketing (not necessary but still good to know). As long as you have these skills you can get into the field with any of those degrees. I can’t stress how important it is to be excel fluent.

Thank you very much HanSolom!
