All I know about Marquette is they have an elite basketball program.

How's their education?

Won't ask anything about their values or christianity since I am 'ze Jew. Just figured the Christian forum was a good place to find out about a Christian School.

It's an urban Catholic college in Milwaukee. I believe it has a fine reputation academically, don't know much of the omnipresence of its religious traditions. I'd guess it's pretty multi-religious and cultural.

Marquette U is one of the 28 Jesuit colleges in the US. Most of them will have a decently strong Catholic, Jesuit identity. You will probably have some kind of liberal arts core to complete regardless of intended major. This will include theology, philosophy, english, history, science requirements for all students.
Am not familiar with Marquette's strongest programs.
Should check it out in person to see if you would be comfortable.

My daughter goes to Marquette. She is very happy there. She is in a health field major, so her course load is challenging. It's a work hard, play hard school. Library packed all week, lots to do on the weekends.

All students have to complete a core curriculum that includes some theology and philosophy, but the above posters are right -- while you will probably be aware that you are at a Catholic school, it will not affect you day to day at all.

You apply directly to the school you want -- engineering, health sciences, business, etc. Communications is very good; everything in health sciences is very, very good; business and engineering also have very good programs.

Your question is not very specific. What else would you like to know?

My mom went to Marquette. Let's put it this way, my dad is Jewish and my parents raised me very Jewish-ly. If I didn't have my heart set on going East for college, I'd be perfectly comfortable with looking at/applying to Marquette.

I was just looking for info are Marquette on CC as well. Does anyone know about merit aid there? I'm considering it as a safety school, and I was wondering what percent of kids there get merit scholarships, how much there worth, etc. I looked on their website, it doesn't have much info.

There is automatic merit scholarships (no extra applications needed) that top out at about $12,000, maybe a little more. Then there are larger scholarships that require separate applications.
