Marshall University Autism Support program

I'm wondering if anyone has gone through the interview process for this program. I would just like to get an idea of what my son can expect. Thanks!

I haven’t, but afterwards can you post about the process and your impressions?

A friend of mine’s son is a HS senior and interviewed for the program in December and she raved about it. Will see if I can find out more.

Thanks! If you could find anything out tonight, that would be great - his interview is at 9 am!

She said that they spent a lot of time talking to her S about his interests (engineering, science) and they thought he would be a great match for the person. She was told, “he’s just the kind of kid this program is meant to serve.” She had despaired of ever finding a place where he’d be able to get all of his needs addressed. He’s not there yet, so I can’t tell you how it works in reality.

I know someone else whose S went to Curry College in the Boston area, which also has supportive living and teaches kids to deal with apartments, chores, etc. They were very pleased with their S’s experience.
