I received a letter from them today and am interested.
What sort of reputation does it have in Virginia/USA?
Is the campus nice?
Are they generous with scholarships/financial aid--what sort of stats would you need to get a nice scholarship or admission to their honors program?
What are its overall pro's/con's?
If anyone could answer all/some of these questions it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

i have a friend who goes there, she is somewhat timid, so she liked the small school environment that it presented to her. she says the campus is beautiful, good personal attention, people are friendly, not much school spirit though. but i guess it was good enough to pull her out of california for it!

My mom went to UMW (she got scholarship money... but it was need based. I don't think they have many 'merit' based scholarships, other than the Washington Scholar which is only for Virginia residents), and she absolutely adored it.

I've only been to see it once, but the campus is gorgeous and the people seemed friendly enough. I do know that it's a very academic oriented place, or at least that's the impression I got from talking to people, so if you're looking to party every night it's probably not where you want to be.

It's a small, liberal arts college and it's definitely not for everyone. It does have a nice reputation. Some of my friends are applying next year actually!
