I have a choice between both and assuming they both cost the same, what would be the better choice? I know Maryland is technically better, but it’s fifteen minutes away from my home and I was only admitted into the spring semester. Right now I’m leaning towards Ohio State, but I don’t want to make any decisions I might regret a few years from now.
Do they actually cost the same, and does the cost matter?
Check if spring admission lets you attend a CC in the fall. That can let you complete a semester of intro courses cheaply.
They are both about the same and cost doesn’t matter.
Make an excel spreadsheet and compare the classes year by year. See which appeals to you more. At OSU, you can jump ahead if you have certain classes under your belt. My son’s a sophomore halfway through his freshman year at OSU. I am not familiar with MD but I’m guessing there are differences. Look at the options for jr/sr level electives; does MD support co-ops (OSU does) and does it that matter to you?
Ohio is cheaper to live than in Maryland so go Ohio. I went to UMCP for a few years before transferring out.
