Master in Accounting?

I'm graduating this year with a psychology and would like to possibly pursue accounting/cpa. I was wondering if I should take cpa classes at an extension school like (UCLA extension or UC Berkeley extension school) or if I should try and apply for a state school like (CSUF or San Jose state).

Any advice would be helpful! thanks!

Since there is a standard licensure test and qualification, most accounting programs that focus on CPA qualification will be quite similar. Even thought it is extension, having UCLA or Berkeley on your resume will be helpful for future positions. I recommend looking at those schools first if you have no other mitigating issues (location, cost differences if any). Some schools even allow the extension students to join alumni organizations and there would be a significant difference in these institutions when viewed that way.

[LSU Independent and Distance Learning](http://is.lsu.edu/ACCTCertificateProg.asp?nid=103&Level=CO&Online=1)

If you learn well online or through distance education you should think about doing the above. The total cost is about $3,200 + Books. You can take up to 10 classes without enrolling and you’ll get the extra credits that you need to sit for CPA licensure.

That is a fair point, and if cost is your top deciding factor, online education could be a serious consideration. It would allow you to gain work experience while studying too.
