Master List of Music School Acceptances, Fall 2013

Many congrats OliviaMezzo and daughter!

This is a wonderful site. Thanks to all that make it possible!!

Congratulations to OliviaMezzo and daughter.

My D was accepted at Boston Conservatory, BM in piano performance. Just received e-mail notice.

D just received acceptance to Boston Conservatory, BM violin performance. $24,000/ yr scholarship

No email yet from Oberlin, does that mean the rejection snail pace letter is coming our way?

Right after I posted this a rumbling earthquake hit down the hill!

Accepted to Eastman! BM Piano performance, with a $18,000/yr merit scholarship.

S received a letter about scholarship from FSU, but sadly I’m not smart enough to figure it out
It involves an out of state tuition reduction scholarship plus a partial out of state tuition waiver plus a music scholarship. No specific amount but they say it will “amount to nearly $13000 per year”
Hopefully before the end of the month we will get something that outlines the true value

Shymom - there may be different decision release dates depending on the major. Good luck!

Hi NYSaxmom, my D’s have all said merit based for the scholarships. Eastman added a $2700 govt loan on top of the $22,000 per year which adds another $5400 to that amount but the loan part needs repaid. The rest do not. I don’t know about any of yours to help you. Just call the school.

I did call the school but I just get their voice mail. I know with my luck if I leave a message I won’t have the letter with me. Like all of us at this point I just have to be patient and wait for the written word. Hopefully next week we can get back to normal life
the life before I became a mailbox stalker

Isn’t it amazing how the parents become so stressed out?!

I think my family thinks I’m crazy!! I ask about a hundred times everyday, “Is anything new”? And every time my daughter tells me that she will let me know when something else comes. She is as calm as can be!!!

My child was waitlisted at Oberlin. Got the letter today. Does anyone have any experience/insight/advice here? Is there reasonable hope for admission?

Congratulations to projectthrive and daughter, Champion88 and daughter, Cerabellum and NYsaxmom and son.

Hi eyeball. Wait listed for what?? Violin, voice
?

Champion88
right with you. My S is cool as a cucumber and tells me to just wait. I think he deliberately doesn’t check his portals/dashboards just to mess with me.
I’m way more worried. But at this stage they are accepted so the stress is off them. Now it’s about the money which is primarily our stress :)

My duaghter just received acceptance to Boston Conservatory for BM Vocal Performance!

I just received an email notification of a $16,000 renewable scholarship to Oberlin as a vocal performance major! I also found out that I have been accepted to Chicago College of Performing Arts as a vocal performance major with a $5,000 scholarship.

My son has applied for both cello and composition and the only school we’re still waiting on is Peabody. So far he has gotten into BU for both, Cleveland Institute for cello, and New England Conservatory for composition. FYI, he was waitlisted for cello at Oberlin. He really wants to be in a chamber ensemble and compose music for his group and others. This is a really difficult decision! I know that at NEC he will not be allowed to take lessons with the cello professors (only lessons with grad students or others in the community). My son will write CIM to see if he can take composition lessons there. Any thoughts??

Congrats BassDad on your daughter’s acceptance!
