<p>Eastman has been, in past years, very late in sending out notifications. Again, please take verbal commitments with caution; teachers have been known to speak without having all of the facts. That does not mean that your son/daughter is not going to be accepted, but until that letter is in your possession, nothing is certain.</p>

Scubachick, those courses can really help at certain colleges. My D took quite a number of APs and Dual Credits too and was able to cover all of the required gen eds with those. Grades can be and often are used to decide between two relatively equal candidates, so why not do everything you can do stack the odds in your favor?</p>

<p>My daughter was wait listed for CCM today in vocal performance, and that was a surprise. I will keep you posted. No need to post. Just putting it out there in case other kids or parents are waiting. Her check my status never changed. She got a letter in the mail.</p>

<p>S has gotten his acceptance from University of Southern Maine - Jazz (some scholarship, but the letter said the total scholarship would be in an upcoming letter). He had an unofficial acceptance from Middle Tn but not the official letter yet, so I’ll update when we get that. And while not a “current” acceptance, he was accepted last year to Berklee which we deferred to this year. Currently waiting to see if he got a scholarship this time. Don’t know if that one counts
 But we found out about USMaine today! Yay! — oh, all of these for guitar.
Oh, and congratulations to the many who’ve gotten their acceptances and good luck to those still waiting! For those who experienced some disappointment, my son had one of those two and it hurts
 so we say to you, things will work out the way they are supposed to. Keep the faith and keep making your music!!!</p>

<p>Congrats to your son Shellybean. I know how hard he has worked and you have worked to find a good program for him. USM is a great hidden gem. And I was told (as my son applied there) that the music scene in Portland is happening so hopefully your son will be able to get extra gigs to make money, something that is harder for a guiltier player to do in Boston. </p>

<p>Hello all! My son has been accepted to the Drexel honors program with a nice academic scholarship in the Music Industry program. A few weeks ago he had his Berklee audition in London for a place in the music production and engineering program. We are waiting for news from Berklee and NYU Clive Davis. </p>

<p>S was wait-listed at San Francisco Conservatory. He’s pretty disappointed. It was one of his top three. Still waiting for news on the other two.</p>

<p>Wait lists are not rejections. Many many musicians on this forum over the years have gotten in to their first choice schools off the waitlist. It’s too early to be discouraged. Really!</p>
