Master Promissory Note

Hey guys, I'll be attending Cornell University this fall relying completely on financial aid. I signed my Master Promissory Note on August 7th but I haven't been contacted regarding the amount I'm eligible for. Its considered a hold and I will be withdrawn from the University if my Bursary
Bursar Bill isn't paid by September 16th. The loan would cover the rest of my bill as I'm eligible for the full amount. Is it normal to not be contacted this late? I'm stressing a little bit here.

You can sign an MPN, but nothing will happen if your school does not offer you a loan and you do not accept the loan through the school (you will also need to do entrance counseling). Have you received an award letter? If so, that is your loan offer. There should be instructions on how to accept the loan. Is there an online system for accepting aid? Did you submit all of the required documentation through IDOC?

Call the aid office tomorrow. Ask them to help you figure out what you need to do next.
