Was hoping to see if anyone knows about master classes at ball state. Especially with casting agents that give advice and critique the students on auditioning, head shots etc
Hello @sondheim
Ball State brings in upwards of 30 guest artists each year! In addition, we also have on our faculty Sutton Foster, broadway music director Michael Rafter, NYC casting directors Rachel Hoffman and Mark Saks, artistic director of Drury Lane in Chicago Bill Osatek, LA manager Eric Emery, and Vice President of Casting for MTV Billy Murphy. These artists collaborate with Ball State students in a variety of audition workshops, classes, masterclasses, and Senior Showcase experiences in their respective cities.
In addition, we bring in a variety of guest artists each year. Guest artists that students have had the chance to work with in the past have included Betty Buckley, Kathleen Turner, and Jonathan Groff. We also have a great partnership with The Cabaret at the Columbia Club in Indianapolis, where students have the opportunity to sing alongside and have masterclasses with Broadway performers such as Kelli O’Hara, Norm Lewis, Joshua Henry, Laura Osnes, Betsy Wolfe, Adam Kantor, and many others.
I hope this helps answer your question! We are definitely setting our students up with great professional connections in the industry in their four years at Ball State.
Thank you ! Sounds great
