Master's Degree?

Would a Master's Degree in Statistics or Applied Mathematics above a Bachelor's in Economics make you more likely to land a good job in finance? Is that a qualification that would aid your job application?

Where you study matters far more than what you study.

In the more quantitative fields it would help, but other than that I would just get an MBA.

Don't get an MBA right after college, the only biz schools that will accept you are ones you don't want to go to. If you go to a semi-target school for banking, you may want to do a one year masters program at the London School of Economics to make yourself more marketable.

Columbia is good too since they also do that one-year program. No offense Johnny, but you do realize you won receive as much financial assistance doing school abroad as you would here. Please don't suggest something like that, especially when the dollar is ****ty (assuming smcler is American).

What do you mean don't suggest that? Who said he can't afford it or his parents won't help? If you're making 150k directly afterward, you can afford to take a loan. I didn't take "offense" either though it was a pretty dumb post...
