Master's funding for CoE

Hi all, I'm going to be applying for grad school through SGUS, and from everything I've read, there is not much funding for MSE students.

PhD students are fully funded, sure, and the remaining GSI/GSRA go to the Master's students. Have people on CC gotten funding for their Master's degrees, or are you pretty much on your own?

I'm hoping to do the program in IOE, if that makes any difference.

I don’t really know what to say.

I guess you can apply for Scholarships.
You can apply for a GSI/GSRA position.
Fellowships are kindof out of reach…

I guess you need to save up a bit. Get a nice engineering internship the summer before and use it on your tuition.

I know that I’ll be able to afford it if I save up and take out some loans, but I’d rather not take out a lot more loans, in addition to what I have as an undergrad.

From looking at the CoE and Rackham website, there don’t seem to be many scholarships or funding for non-PhD graduate studies. I’ve contacted the CoE scholarship people, if they get back to me with anything useful, I’ll report it here.

Yeah, I’m also planning on doing SGUS, but for BME. Let me know if you hear anything from the CoE Scholarship Office, chasely.

Best of luck to the both of us! The guy I need to contact is out of the office until Monday.

Any word back?

I was told that in general, no funding is provided. I was directed to this page: [Michigan Engineering | Fellowship Application Workshops](http://www.engin.umich.edu/academics/gradprograms/studentactivities/workshops/fellowshipapplication.html)

On the other hand, all my classes with GSI’s this semester have MSE students in them…
