Hey all! I am majoring in computer engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and planning to minor in mathematics (might actually do a double major). I hope to study Financial Engineering at Columbia or UCLA. Hence, I want to know what kind of grades and Gre scores are ideal for an international applicant, I am confident of scoring well on the GRE but my GPA is less than stellar.
Cheers!
This forum generally focuses on undergraduate – not postgraduate – admissions concerns. You may want to consider reposting this question in of the Professional/Graduate School forums.
If you want to study financial engineering in these schools, you should at least obtain a first class honour in CUHK.
And actually first class honour is the basic requirement only…Well, you are talking about financial engineering in Columbia, which is normally considered to be one of the top 5 program in the country.
Maybe you should work harder on your GPA, or you consider applying to some less prestigious programs.
