Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace

I am currently doing a bachelors in mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta. My GPA is 3.9 and I expect to graduate with something close to a 4.0. I am specializing my degree as much as possible in fluid dynamics and want to pursue a masters in either mechanical or aerospace engineering at an American school. With my grades would I be able to get into any of the top schools, and if so would they give me scholarships? Thanks.

You would get into a lot of places if they went solely on GPA. Do you have any research experience? That will play a big part in whether you get into some of the top schools. Funding is kind of hit or miss; it varies by school, department and even advisor.

Not many places have scholarships for masters programs. If they do, likely not for internationals. It’s not like undergrad where most schools will match need. Expect to pay sticker price if you want a semi decent to top school.

Not true at all. The difference is that the money they give comes with you agreeing to work by doing teaching and/or research. Still, only some schools/departments/professors give out assistantships to MS students (though many of the top schools do in the right situations).
