Masters in Public Administration & the Quantitative GRE

Hi everyone. I’m a recent graduate with a bachelor’s in History, and I’m considering getting a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) with a focus in Nonprofit Leadership. I’m currently an intern at a small food justice nonprofit and I want to increase my chances in the job market.

My problem is that I struggle with math. I’m great with qualitative, humanities-based studies, but I am challenged by even basic math. I plan on doing a lot of studying for the Math GRE.

I’ve looked at UConn and Binghamton’s MPA program, but my question is whether an MPA will be a good grad degree for someone who struggles with math?

Thanks in advance.

It is important to have competencies in basic algebra, because those concepts are used in both the economics and quantitative research methods courses. How well have you done in economics? If you can do well in an introductory microeconomics class, that suggests that you know enough algebra for the MPP at those two schools that you mentioned.
