High school GPA:
My GPA is 92/100 which when adjusted to the American way is 3.68/4. However, this will change after I've taken my final examinations (hopefully for the better :))

I haven't taken any SATs or ACTS yet, they aren't a requirement here but if I do decide to go to university in the U.S. I will sit them.

Requirements:
I want to go somewhere in California or NYC
I want to go somewhere that is good for journalism and languages.

USC good for journalism... but then again I'm HUGE fan of SC haha

also GPA isn't directly related to your final results, its by course... if it was I would be getting a 3.9, so I dont think you can just divide your 92 by 25 which is what I'm guessing you've done, you need to go course by course.

Oh by the way I'm an aussie so in a similar situation (without all the sporty stuff)

Ooh okay, I didn't know that. Well I've messed up my GPA anyway. 92/100 isn't my actual score, I found out that my GPA is actually 2.68/3, which actually confuses things for me even more.

Good chance at both above if you hit the 2200s in SAT and 700+ in SAT2.

Just a note, because if you write this on your common app and the Uni checks up on you, you might be in a bit of a trouble:

high distinction is top 1%. distinction is more like top 6%? Also the results are compared to those who participated in your state, ie. NZ. So it would be top 6% in New Zealand.

Definitely try some colleges from the Claremont Consortium especially McKenna and Pomona. Try Williams and Colby and other LACs on the East Coast. And, remember tp study for the SATs.
Best.
