Hey I'm an incoming freshmen fall 2010 at UNC chapel hill looking for a roommate.
I kno that chapel hill has a roommate browsing website, but its not really a useful resourse to find good roomies.
anyways, my friend gave me a website called uroomsurf.com, but its asking for payments in order for me to communicate with other people that I have been matched with.
I was wondering if theres any other really good websites that matches u with potential roommates for free?

I have a basic account on URoomSurf and have been able to talk to my matched roommates without paying. The premium membership just allows you to change schools and retake the survey, as far as I know. You can also view more specific results with a premium membership (like their individual survey answers). To me, not worth it. Still, I can’t understand how you can’t simply message your matches…

Never heard of a roommate matching website, but I’ll look into it and see what’s up. Thanks for the reference.

I’ll probably be attending UNC this fall (transfer decision this Friday), and I’ll be your roommate! Haha. :)

lol thanks mastemah. haha

and yaa its wierd cause my friend who introduced me to the site didnt have to pay a cent to msg ppl on it and to look at their profile.,
but i dunno, it says whenever i try to look at a match’s profile that i have to upgrade my account…

That’s so weird… Have you tried using Facebook? Most incoming freshman groups have roommate survey things.
