I must put in a request at my school to send materials such as transcripts and recommendation letters to the colleges that I am applying to and I can’t seem to find much information on what the University of Illinois needs. I know they don’t accept recommendation letters and they don’t need any official transcripts until after you are accepted, but do they need anything like secondary school reports or mid year report cards? If then do I not need to send anything at all?
Other than the application with its essays and self-reported grades through junior year, the only things you need send are the payment of the application fee and official SAT or ACT test scores from the testing agency. UIUC does not want any mid-year reports. The exception is that applicants to certain programs, such as art, theater or music, will need to submit portfolios.
What about SAT II scores? Would that help the chances if I got a high score?
UIUC does not use SAT subject tests or recommendations to determine admission. If sent, those who actually make admission decisions will be provided a file to review that excludes any such subject test scores or recommendations.
I see…UIUC doesn’t require letters of recommendation.
