MATH 114 , 115 Help!

I’m going to be taking either MATH 114 or MATH 115 this fall (i’m an economics major). Which course is more difficult? Which is better suited for economics majors? Are these courses standardized or are the exams up to the discretion of the professor? Which would you recommend overall?

Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! :)

in a nutshell, 114 is harder, because it starts calculus stuff that will be built upon in higher levels, while 115 has probability and is not so hard.

assuming you are a SAS student, it is recommended that you take 114 (see link below). in general, each section of a course is standardized at the end of the semester.

i think they recommend you take 114 for econ b/c 115 covers a lot of the same things that econ covers...both courses are difficult, they just have a different focus
114 is more higher level calculus, almost geometry-based, while 115 is more probability based

i took 114 last semester and spent the entire time wishing i had taken 115, but i also neither needed 114 nor wanted to be in the class
