which teacher is good? is Simonett good?

thanks

ok, I'm all about math 175 teachers. From what I heard, Simonett is good. He gives a lot of partial credits. Personally, I had John Rafter. I took 175 last semester so I did my research :). So Rafter is an extremely good teacher. He explains concepts well (which if you haven't had multivariable calculus, it might be good). He is extremely friendly and helpful! Office hours were always available, etc. However, teachers like this often come with a price from the student's point of view. If the syllabus stays the same, Rafter has 3 tests and 8 quizes. These quizes are never pop quizes. You get to drop one quiz. 4 are in class and 4 are take home. The take home quizzes can be time consuming. ALso, on all take home grades, one is able to consult anything and anyone given its his or her own work. So if you're a freshman, it might be hard to find a group (I had about 3-4 people in my group) since you don't know anyone yet. Trust me, it would probably be hard to pull an A if you don't work together. B's are definitely doable if you stay consistent. No graded homework.

Now, here's my story. somebody tole me and if you get Rafter, you would probably need to know the same thing. If you show up to office hours, you will ingratiate yourself in his eyes. So do it. I had a 89.4 average going into the final and needed an 90 for an A-. Got a 92 and average went up to a FLAT 90. A-. However. he gave me an A since he knew that I worked hard for it. Highly recommended. Post if you have any questions.
