i've heard a lot of not so great things about the math 1b curve.. im planning to take 1b next semester (spring 2007) and i was just wondering which of these professors would be best to take it with (from a grading/easiness point of view) since i already know a large part of the material in the class:-

the current profs listed are:-

hald
ratner
and sethian

anyone taken 1b with these guys before?

Ratner is known to be one of the harder math 1b professors.

I have Olssen this semester and I like him as a lecturer. I can't wait till the first midterm this friday!

hmm... well a few of my friends took 54 with sethian last spring and either failed or barely passed with a C.. they said he his tests were hard and grading was quite harsh

so by a process of elimination hald is the best bet?

another query:- out of the four classes cs61b, math1b, ee20 and physics7a which do you recommend signing up for in phase I?

Rate My Professors says Hald is the least hard of the 3 Math 1B professors.

His curve was extremely unfriendly. He curved around a C+.
