For those of you who took Math 31A or 31B last year and used the first edition instead of the listed second edition, were a good part of the review problems and content the same, or were you at a disadvantage?

The math department recommended buying the more expensive second edition, but my professor has not responded yet.

I took AP Calculus AB in my junior year of high school and got an A, but was sick during the AP test.

Thanks so much!

Generally Profs do not care which edition you use, as long as they have assigned homework questions.

I think the questions in the books are either numbered differently between the older and newer addition. But, they should have the 2nd edition in the course at Powell library(you can google just that and look it up)and you can checked those out two hours at a time and just copy the questions down for your homework. The lessons and sections in the book itself are pretty much the same and most professors don’t care which book you use as long as you do whats assigned.
