Is this class curved? Can anyone who has taken this class before tell me how the final grading curve is like? i just got B+ for my midterm :'( thanks

I got a B+ and a B on the midterms and still ended up with an A-.
The class is definitely curved so all hope is not lost yet.

you are acting like a B+ is the end of the world lol. I got a 44 on the MT too haha…but yeah. don’t worry, i know so many more people who ended up with Cs and Ds…it wasn’t that hard o.O

just like any class, one “hit” (a B+ hardly counts as a "hit’ btw; you are still very in contention for an A depending how well you do moving forward) will not destroy your grade. the class is indeed curved, as many (most, all) math courses are. good luck!

Now if the class averaged an A or an A-, I’d be a little bit worried. However if the average was like a B or B-, I think you’re still doing okay.

My 53 class did so well, that it was curved down.

A high 80s was curved to a B-.

man, i am really worried… if >44 = A, does this mean that ~40% has higher grade than that?

That sounds to me like if you got over 44 total points, you are in the “A” range. I could be wrong…

I took his class six years ago. I appreciated how he took the time to assign approximate grade ranges for each exam, so that you always know how you’re doing in the class.

I scored around 45/50 on the first exam, around 40/50 on the second exam (which had a lower mean) and around 65/90 on the final exam (score distribution not publicized.) This combination was enough for an A overall.
