Yea... Definitely almost no weight. There's no point because NY is the only state that gives Regents exams.

math a/math b wasn't that challenging.

my school has students from 7 - 12, so most students take the math a regents in the 8th grade and math b regents during their freshman year of high school. the funny thing: my school is "poor", lol.

math b and chem are the hardest regents. This recent one though had some pretty weird questions. That street/triangle one and the log question at the end i think were the worst.

is anyone taking physics? I'm like spazzing out about it-i left all my studying to today and I still have latin to take!

Well.. i loved how they only made the proof question only 2 points, but the triangle question was lame... it was a concept taught in the 1st semester of most geometry classes... the math b was only supposed to have stuff in proofs, circles, and algebra II.

^ technically it is part of the math b curriculum. I know because I got like EVERY single question wrong on them in math 2 hah

Ah, Math B. Good times.
I remember my Math B teacher complaining that there should be a Calculus Regents. >.<

Anon - I'm taking physics. I'm scared...It's one of the hardest Regents out there!

Yeah. I hope we get a nice curve. Did anyone see the conversion chart for US? You can literally get 7-8 wrong on MC and get a 99. Redonk!

Are you serious? That's ridiculous! Good though...Especially since my first essay was complete crap.

Which is how I think I got a 98 in 10th grade on US...
I know I got at least 10 mc's wrong (after APUSH prep I couldn't have cared less about the regents).

i got a 100 on math a and a 98 on math b.... (took math a middle of 9th grade, math b end of 10th grade)

everyone says math b is the hardest out of all of them.

I thought Math B was the most difficult Regents, by far. I think I used the full time and they had to tear me a sheet out of another test so I could do a problem because I had an entire page of completely fucucked up work. That being said, I managed a 98 in the end, tying my Math A score.

Wow...I was so incredibly off!

I thought I failed my final and passed the Math B, but it was the other way around.

Oh well. It doesn't really matter since the Math B isn't required to graduate, and I passed math which is required.

Math B is hard. But that may be because my teacher was perhaps the nicest teacher I ever had, but was so nice that he eventually stopped teaching the course material about halfway through. I got an 89. 100 on all other regents (98 on Chem. though). Bleh. I'm still thinking of retaking it just to get a 100 on it since I'm getting A+'s in precalc, but it just sticks out there like a sore thumb

^ retake, because then you can get an advanced diploma with distinction (or something) if everything is over 90

I got 100 on math a and math b. I thought it was a joke. After doing so many questions, they all seem to look the same just with different numbers...

to anon

are you sure its over 90 and not over 85?

i think there's two...i'm double checking now

from nysed gov site (regents site basically)
" A local school district may award a student a Regents diploma with honors or a Regents diploma with advanced designation with honors. To earn honors, a student shall achieve an average of 90 per cent in all Regents examinations, or their equivalent pursuant to section 100.2(p) of this Part, required for the diploma. Each Regents examination score carries a weight of one and such score shall not be multiplied by the number of units of study being examined. Averages below 90.0 per cent shall not be rounded upward to 90 per cent."

ny sun says this: "A new offering, the "advanced" Regents diploma, requires students to pass eight Regents exams with a score of 85 plus 22 credits."

yeah, i'm weird, but i want an honors diploma hah :P...why have i become the regents person? anyway gl on physics everyone

In my school you have to get over a 90 for the honors/advanced regents diploma thing. I'm pretty sure that honor will be going down the drain for me after I take physics tomorrow. Only 35% passed physics last year and my stupid school still hasn't fired my physics teacher!
