Hello everybody, I’m currently a sophomore right now and am taking AP Calculus AB. I took Math 3 Honors last year (a combination of Precalculus, Trigonometry, and Algebra II) and got an A. I am stressing over which math course to take junior and senior years because although I have a strong, solid background in mathematics, I waste ungodly amounts of time when I’m studying and procrastinate a lot, and I don’t expect these study habits to change. I expect to get Bs both semesters.
Next year, I have the option of either taking Calculus BC (an extremely hard class from what I’m hearing from some of the smartest kids) or AP Stats (a relatively easy course which could maintain my GPA). I could take BC next year and have no idea what I’m doing then take stats senior year, or do stats junior year. If I do that though, I don’t know which math class I could take that would be beyond stats and look good on my senior course load but not so challenging that I flunk.
I also have the option of taking math classes online or at a local community college. Some choices that come to mine are Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, or Business Calculus (those would each be a semester). I guess my question which would be a good course to take after stats because I am heavily leaning towards not taking BC.
BTW, my goal is to be an economics major, which I have heard is not that math-heavy as other programs.
