Math Class Senior Year Necessary?

I am a junior, and have been contemplating whether or not I should take a math class my senior year. This year I am taking precalculus. I have taken Algebra I & II, Geometry, and precalculus will be my fourth math credit. My college choices are Univ. of Cincinnati, Kent State, Akron, Ohio State, or Pittsburgh. I plan on retaking my ACT again since I was not pleased with my score of 29. I have a lower GPA of 3.2, but I have always been in accelerated classes. My senior year schedule will look like: AP English IV, AP Government, Physics, sociology, physcology, and fine arts. I plan on majoring in communications and minoring in either fine arts or political science.
3.2 unweighted GPA
29 ACT
EC- Varsity Cross Country, Track, Varsity Soccer (Captain of), Indoor track, Varsity Tennis, Student Council, French Club, BPA, and Church volunteering.
I am not the best at math, and it is my worst subject; my options for classes are: Trig or AP Calculus.
Thanks for the help. Class of 2014.

baby, i wish i were your derivatives so i can lie along your curves ;)

but seriously, I am considering majoring in mathematics, so, yes, take more math! it’s the best!!! :)))

Have you looked at the requirements for each school? Ohio State, for example, requires 3 years but recommends 4. You’ll get extra consideration if you take math your senior year, but it may not help if you don’t get a good grade. On the other hand, you could argue that you were showing perseverance in taking it as well as trying to address your weakest area.

Thank you, but this would be my 5th math class, I attended high school in the mornings my 8th grade year to take Algebra I.

Does your Algebra I even show on your high school transcript or count towards your graduation requirements? The HS math my D took in 8th grade is not on her transcript and does not count towards required number of math courses for graduation. Silly, but true. It has something to do with athletics, even though she is not in sports. But her MS credits cannot count in HS.

Yes, I finished it with a C, and it shows up on my transcript
