For an aspiring biology major going onto the premed track, what math would be recommended to take? I have the choice between taking Math 3A, Math 31A, and Life Sciences 30A. I could skip Math 31A and potentially skip Math 31B if I got a 5 on the BC exam, but I’m fairly certain that AP scores don’t fulfill math requirements needed by med schools, so I’m assuming I have to start from the basics.
If you’re life sci and don’t want to switch to a physical science or engineering major then do not take the 31 series. It’s harder and doesn’t do anything for med school. I would take the LS series it is one less class the the 3 series and involves some practical coding for life sci
