Math courses

Hi, I am a rising junior and will be taking algebra 2. My school only offers pre calc and ap stat after that. Does it hurt my chances since I started 9th grade with algebra 1, and won’t be able to take calc at all? I hear pre calc is basically a review of algebra 2/trig

I also want to mention I want to major in pre med, and am generally good with math. Should I take pre calc or stat senior year?

Take precalc for sure.

You will need to take calculus your first year of college and that will best prepare you.

Yes, if you need to take calculus (which you will if you want to take pre-med courses), you should take precalculus so that you are ready for calculus when you get to college.

Pre-med is not a major; it is a set of courses that can be taken alongside any major.

You need pre-calculus honors because as a premed ou’ll have to take calculus.

It does not hurt your chances. You are measured against what your school offers.

Thanks everyone for answering; I was more interested in stat but pre calc should be fine(I don’t think it’s honors though)
