Math for College Admissions.

Hi,
I am wondering if I take honors precalc and AP Stats together senior year if I will look good enough for college admission. I’m a junior and my intended major is economics/business. I’m currently in honors algebra 2. Being where I stand (and will stand next year), do you think I could still make it into the more selective schools? Also, I am currently in AP Economics.

Thank you

Can’t you take Calc? When you say “more selective schools”, what do you mean?

At my school precalc is a prerequisite. And I mean like UVA and schools like that.

Certainly, taking the highest level of math that you are able to take is better than not doing so. It looks like a math placement decision made in 6th-8th grade did not put you in advanced math that would have you take calculus in high school, but precalculus in high school should be enough to get you ready to take calculus in college (as needed for many majors, including business and economics).

Very few colleges actually require calculus in high school for admission.
