Math II: Is Barrons still a lot harder?

I took the Barrons diagnostic test today and scored a 700 with minimal studying. I had heard that this book was killer, so I was worried I would get around a 500 on my first try. Did I do well, or are the Barrons tests not as hard as they used to be? What would a 700 on Barrons equate to? Am I done studying if I want an 800?

I’ve never used Barron’s, but most other prep books I’ve seen usually go at around the same level or slightly harder than the actual SAT. If you want to consistently score 800, you should try to minimize careless errors, even on a harder practice test.

No, I think you should keep practicing. A 700 in practice tests equate to about 780-790 on the real test. However, you need to avoid silly mistakes :)

I think you’re pretty much good, but don’t slack off :3 just keep on doing practice tests and see if you can improve any more. But don’t worry since you’re more or less in the safe zone ^^

Sorry to revive such an old thread, on my last practice test I scored a 740 on a timed test. I’m using the Barrons book, what could this translate to on the actual test?

You should be set for 800 from what I hear. I would recommend the two released official math 2 tests if you want to know how you’d actually do.

Eh I think I’ll hold off, just go through the last barons test without time, just looking for silly errors and what not, I will be busy with school for the next few days until the test.
