should i use 83 or 89? i have 89 but i do not fully know how to use it, but should i learn it b/c i heard that it can do alot than i know how to use.

If I had the 89 I would take the time to learn to use it, although it seems drastically different than the 83 in various aspects. The benefits seem to be worth it.

^ What are the benefits? I’m not sure if I should buy one.

Currently have an Ti 83 +

I would use the one you’re most familiar with.
I used an 84 when I took it since I knew a ton of shortcuts and easy ways to solve certain problems. Saving a minute or two by using shortcuts which you are familiar and comfortable with can prove very useful in the end.

An 83 provides everything you need for the test and more, so personally, I’d go with the one you feel most comfortable with.

I honestly am not aware of all of the benefits of the 89; I know that it can solve systems of equations (like 3 unknowns), and solve equations in terms of variables.
Are there any sites/threads that have a list of useful shortcuts/programs on the TI-83? I think there are a few in the Barron’s book…
