Math in Intermediate Microeconomics?

What kind of math is involved in this class? The pre-requisites say Calc I and Intro to Micro. I'm a junior and the last time I took Calc I was in the form of AP Calc my senior year in high school (2+ years ago). I got a 3 on the AP test, which gives me credit for Calc I. Would I be okay for Intermediate Micro?

Thank you.

Totally depends. At my school, there’s two levels of Intermediate Microeconomics, one of which requires a very powerful and intuitive grasp of many fields of mathematics, and one of which requires a basic understanding of calculus.

If the prerequisite is only one semester of calculus, then it won’t be that math-intensive. However, you should review your calculus, especially since you only got a 3 on the AP test.

A math-intensive version of the course would list something like multivariable calculus as a prerequisite. Students intending to go to graduate school in economics are typically recommended to take the math-intensive versions of economics courses, and take additional math courses.

pretty simple calculus
