Hi, how would a math major look compared to a stern finance major if you wanted to go into banking?

They love math majors. The most lucrative positions require heavy math knowledge, aka actuaries, quantitative analysts etc.

That’s what I’m hoping for. I think a math major with a major/minor in something interesting ( that also boosts your GPA up lol) will look much more unique than plain finance or economics majors.

At most schools around the country: Econ/Math > Finance

At NYU: Finance > Econ/Math by a small margin > Econ – all are good though.

Finance/Math minor would be tops
