Anyone know of what colleges have programs where you can graduate with a B.S. in Mathematics and Mathematics Education in 4 years? I know the University of Georgia does, but where else?

Thanks

Google? Ten chars

Tried. Either they're really uncommon or not well publicized

Just about any public university that has a strong Department of Education should have this program.

Please be advised that increasingly students find that they need 4 1/2 to 5 years to complete the degree requirements for a major as well as the coursework and student teaching requirements for a teaching certificate. You might want to consider doing the math degree with an Education minor, and then save the student teaching for after graduation.

I hope you are serious about this career! We desperately need good math teachers in grades K-12.

My son plans to follow happymomof1's advice. He plans to major in Math with a minor in education. He wants to get his doctorate in Math. He wants to teach at the high school or college level. I agree that we desperately need qualified Math teachers in K-12. I wish more students would consider it.
