Math Question on Blue Book...

I need help on Q.5, Pg 531, section 4...

I get the rest, but I just can't get this problem.

Help is much appreciated! x)

Hiyaa. This question looks cumbersome but it's quite easy if you remember your triangle formula ^__^

Area of a Triangle = 1/2 b * h

You have the area of the Triangle which is 18
And a base of (this is kind of tricky to cook up with) 3k
And a height of 4 (6-2).

Thus,
18 = 1/2 * 3k * 4

18 = 3k * 2

18 = 6k
3 = k.

^__^ Hope that helps! Good luck!

nevermind.
