Math Teacher Gone Wild?

Our math teacher went through 4 sections in my math book out of 6 sections in 30 minutes and he claims we've learned it all. On Thursday, he said "Quiz tomorrow", which was today. He wasn't here today, so he postponed it to Monday.

But think about, who speeds through 4 sections and expects a student to learn it in one day along with 2 other sections we've learned weeks ago? I studied Thursday night, and I still felt unprepared. NO math teacher should do this, I know school is almost over in a month, but speeding through sections and then yelling at us for not taking pride in our work and paying attention. I don't get this at all, I have an 80 in that class and working my tail off and he yells at me. I can't wait to get out of that class and slam the door right in his face.

What do you think about this?

I don’t think there’s much you can do besides staying after for extra help. Maybe you can make your parents complain to the GC or something.

I must say though, this type of behavior from a teacher is not acceptable. How does he expect normal students to learn such a big amount of stuff in such a short time?

I stayed after once with him, and it was pretty bad, I didn’t really learn anything, so my best teachers right now is my math book and the internet.

Eh, I think what’s probably happened is your math teacher is behind on the curriculum and is hurrying to get through it.

I know it’s not the best situation, but the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. My math teacher, on the other hand, goes at a snails’ pace. We don’t offer honors classes at my school, so as a result, my Algebra 2 class consists of people who primarily struggle with math. We have one month left of school, and we have only completed 6 of the 15 sections in our book. 4 of those sections were covered in Algebra 1. I’m going to be absolutely screwed over when I enter Precalculus. We haven’t covered logarithms, conic sections, rational expressions, or any trigonometry. =/

This thread title is hilarious.

@Rob1995 I see what you mean, but our tests and quizzes are worth 90% of our grade, if you bomb a test, say good bye to your grade. If he’s behind in schedule he can start by not going off track lol. Also we haven’t covered Logarithms, conic sections, or trig either. We are in rational stuff now with all the crazy sections lol.
