math undergrad, english grad?

I was wondering if anybody had experience with adding a major at the end of their college career and doing grad school right after.

I go to UT Austin, as an Economics and Math student, and I added English at the end of year 4. I took almost all English classes in year 5. Hadn't taken English before in college.

I was a B/C student in math and econ, but I have a 4.0 English GPA (9 English classes), got a portfolio full of great essays and recommendation letters. My overall GPA was a 3.2.

GRE 770 quant, 750 verbal. Great extracurriculars, personal statement, worked 10-30 hrs a week during school.

I want to eventually get a Ph.D. in English. Am I competitive for a good Ph.D. program now? Or should I be looking at master's programs? Where would I be competitive? What makes my application weak?

You should speak with your English professors about this. They are the ones in the best position to counsel you on this career choice.
