I was wondering if there is any high school students who attended the Math Zoom summer camp in the past 2 years and if they can share their experiences about the curriculum, instructors, other campers, etc. Is the camp very challenging? Is it helpful for preparing for AMC10/12, AIME, USAJMO/USAMO, etc. top math competitions in high school?

My son is 10th grade. His math is decent and wants to attend math competition training summer camp this year. He wishes to make the USAJMO or USAMO during his high school career (he made the AIME as a freshman and scored a 5). He wanted to apply for the USAMath camp, PROMYS, Ross, etc. top math camps, but they do not fit into our family schedule. So, I am thinking about Math Zoom.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can share some experiences. Furthermore, are there any other competition-centered math camps?

Well why is your son’s main focus competition math? Competition math is not true math, just recreational. Yes it teaches “problem solving”, but your son’s time can be spent more wisely.

@PurePhysics, thank you very much for the suggestions. We will arrange other activities in the summer. He wishes to get into USAMO in Junior year. That is why he can only attend 3 weeks of GOOD “problem solving” or competition math camp. Mathzoom looks like a GOOD fit schedule-wise so I want to know people’s experiences.

I know this is an old thread. Just wondering, what was your decision? Is your son going to Math Zoom this summer? I signed my 7 grader up so I am hoping to get some info. Thanks.
