I was looking at the books that I need for MATH104, and the bookstore website listed

CALCUCLS PACKAGE W/ MAPLE14 <--- that spelling :P
By Stewart

Edition 2010
Publisher: CENGAGE L
ISBN: 9781111700485

How different is this 2010 edition to the book from last year? A sophomore that I know is selling his MATH104 book from last year.

And what is MAPLE 14? Can I get that from my friend too?

Maple is a math program, roughly a simpler version of Mathematica. Not necessary at all and you will never use it in class.

As for the 2010 edition, dunno about that, I’d do some research first

You could try emailing your professor and asking if an older edition is okay. My guess is that the homework problems might be changed around but the content is the same (I mean really, how much could they possibly change the book?) Might be slightly annoying b/c I believe homework is collected and graded (at least it was for 114/240)

For the collected homework thing, it really depends on the prof. It was collected when I took 240 but not when I took 114.

problems will be changed up, forcing you to buy the newer version. it’s part of the way the publishing company makes money.

welcome to college - they milk you for all you’re worth.
