Mathematical Econ Analysis vs Pure Econ?

Hey I'm a college student looking to transfer to Rice this fall(hopefully I get accepted) and I really want to do economics but I'm not entirely clear on which Econ major to do. If anyone can provide any differences between the two that would be cool and your own preferences/opinions on the majors and what types minors do people use combine these with.

Anyone? Haha

“The major in mathematical economic analysis is recommended for students who intend to pursue graduate work in economics or a business or governmental job in which extensive analytical and quantitative skills are required.” It looks like it requires 16 courses vs 12 for economics.

Information can be found here (including course requirements: [Rice University Department of Economics](http://economics.rice.edu/default.aspx)
