Hello everyone!
I am currently a freshman and have been deciding between these two majors.
I had also considered majoring in International Relations with a concentration in International Economics, however I took that option out because Economics (or Mathematical Economics) would be more “quantitative” (I enjoy IR but I also want to have numbers in my work).
Now to the topic at hand; would it be worth it to major in Mathematical Economics over (regular) Economics here at BU if I plan on working/interning at a (global) bank or at the United Nations (not sure of job yet for either)? I don’t plan on acquiring a Master’s Degree in Economics, but do plan on getting one in IR or an MBA.
What are your thoughts?
