I go Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and just recently changed my major from optical engineering to physics. Now, I am thinking of changing to mathematics. For various reasons, I am considering transfering to Iowa State. Are the physics and mathematics undergraduate programs respected there? Are professors accessible? One of the reasons I want to transfer from Rose is that its a small school in the middle of nowhere (Terre Haute) and there aren't tons of clubs you can join. One of the things I like about Rose is that you have lots of one on one with professors where you can ask questions. Would I get that at Iowa State?

Iowa State has very good programs in math and physics. You can get to know your professors at Iowa State but it will take work on your part. Iowa State is no different in that when compared to any other research university.

Iowa State has a ton of student orgs (800 or so) and the students at ISU tend to be very involved with student groups. More so than most other research universities from what I have seen.
