Mathematics for Computation Undergrad at UCLA?

Hi! I am an admitted student into UCLA who plans to go to UCLA in the Fall. I wanted to go into computer science, but I knew it was competitive and I also like math very much. I’m curious: How does Mathematics for Computation hold up with Computer Science in terms of pursuing software engineering jobs after leaving UCLA?

Also, would I need more than a bachelors to get a decent job coming out of UCLA?

I guess it’s also worth noting that I am an Applied Mathematics major right now who would plan to switch into this major.

The mathematics of computation major is almost all math, with only six total computer science courses required. You can Google the courses for that major.

Not sure about software related job prospects for that major but in general math majors can definitely land software or data science jobs. That said, if you’re hoping to spend more time studying CS than math I might look at other schools - if you have other options.
