Maths Level 2 Questions. Please solve them!

Hey please solve the following questions and give alongside the method :)

The radius of the base of a right circular cone is 6 and the radius of a parallel cross section is 4. If the distance between the base and the cross section is 8, what is the height of the cone? (Ans : 24)

If n distinct planes intersect in a line and another line 'p' intersects one of these planes in a single point, what is the least number these n planes that p could intersect?
(Ans : n-1)

In a certain experiement, there is a 0.2 probability that any thermomeneter used is in error by more than 1 degree celcius. If 4 thermometers are used, what is the probability that all of them are in error by more than 1 degree celsius? (Ans :0.0016)

Which of the following lines are asymptotes of the graph of y= (1+x)/x

I) x= 0
II) y= 0
III) y = 1

^How will we do this question without a graphic calculator?

Just build a proportion, if h is the height of the cone and h-8 is the height from the vertex to the smaller cross-section, then h/6 = (h-8)/4 → h = 24.

It turns out that line p intersects every plane, except for at most one plane that is parallel to p. Ans = n-1

P(all 4) = (0.2)^4 = 0.0016

If x → 0, y approaches either +/- ∞ so I is correct.

If x → +/- ∞, y approaches 1, so III is correct.

y = 0 is not an asymptote (the function intersects only at x = -1). The correct answer is I and III.
