<p>I read Duke's policy for recommendation letters on their website, and I still don't get it. It seems that we obviously need 2 teachers from core class, and then how many more "optional" ones can we add? I wanted to send one from a good friend of mine and my research colleague at a med. school...so I guess that would be 4 total. Is that too much?</p>
<p>The maximum is usually three...the two core and the one supplemental rec. I think having four different recs would clutter your file.</p>
