May 2010 -- Spanish

Start discussing!

I feel horrible about this one. The first section was really killer, although I thought it got a lot easier after that...

i didnt do as well as i thought i would…the grammar killed me. the reading comprehension wasn’t awful though.

anyone have ansewrs?

the one about the mumba? fill in the black passage?
once “la mumba” (w.e. i don’t remember lol) reached mexico, it was like, ok, what is “cumbre” anyway…but i put “en cuanto a” llegar a Mexico
and then i realized that it should be “despues de” llegar? but then at THAT moment, time was over. =[ i couldn’t erase the bubble =[

something about getting primary choice for next yr something in sentence fill in…
was it “dudo que obtenga” or dudo que obtuviera?
i don’t even remember which one i settled with =[

it was such a blur i barely remember the questions
i put obtenga
and i think i put antes de for the one you were talking about (probably wrong)
i thought the reading comp was way easier than the fill in the blanks

I enjoyed the Spanish test; it was much easier than I was expecting. The only problem that I had was on a few of the later questions in the first section. Pretty sure I put “despues de” for the question you’re talking about, so I’m crossing my fingers that this is the correct answer.

Ok. I definitely had no idea what I was doing. The grammar Part I and II was mostly guessing game to me. The reading section wasn’t bad at all. I actually enjoyed the guy walking from school, disillusioned by the absence of people and then getting surprised by his friends and family, realizing that it was his birthday. LMAO. But yeah. I’d be happy even with a high-500s. But hopefully 600s. It’s because I have a Spanish teacher who doesn’t teach **** so… haha. But I am planning to buy REA’s AP Spanish prep book that says Are you serious about getting a 5. Anyone know if it’s effective??? I hear if you dominate AP, SAT II is a piece of cake. So that’s how I am going to do this.

@whoazoe Yo pongo “despues de” tambien.

It was supposed to be “antes de que” for the one that ended in “empezieran las clases” because empezar was in the subjunctive form, and antes de que is the only conjunction that would take the subjunctive in the past tense from the choices… “cuando,” “siempre que,” and “despues de que” (or something like that) all only take the subjunctive if the action is in the future.

Quien sabe la repuesta para siguiente pregunta?

Yo llegue _ tren.
a. por
b. en
c. a
d. de
I put “en.” It’s probably wrong. Is it por?

i put a tren…
b/c it is transportation? lol it sounds weird tho…

grrr yeah i think it should have been despues de for the mumba passage =[
WHY WHY WHY did i put en cuanto a…WHY? lol (slap myself*)

i put “en” for the train one
i hope i got above a 600, it might be borderline :/

its por, you’re because its transportation, por coche, por tren

I didn’t take it, but I’m pretty sure it’s “en tren.” At least, that’s what we’ve learned.

por wasn’t a chocie for the train
so its en

Right, “para” was the only por/para choice…

Woooo! At least I know I got one right!

Oh yeah. Now I remember. Por wasn’t a choice. so yay. 1 point!

For the last story, the one about the radio:

I said he was queda or whatever by the “new programming”
The program was in the “anochecer”
He wants there to be modern music?

For the last one, he was complaining about the new programming but it was in the morning (amanecer? madrugada?) and he wanted more discussion.

i said amanecer and that he wanted more noticias
he viewed the program with disgust?

Disgusto was my answer. Yeah. He seemed disillusioned with it, so that’s what I put. I knew madrugar was to wake up early in the morning, but that’s all I understood from that last article. I understood the least from the last one.

The story about the guy coming from school.
Did you guys get that

  1. Where he was coming from? “del colegio.”
I don’t remember the questions between.
  2. Where did the family and friends surprise him? “dentro de casa(or something like that)” <- it was the only one that made sense.

The Pablo Neruda one.

  1. Vender sus obras y blah blah.
and i forget the others haha. I have bad memories of tests.
